Getting Comfortable With The Cold12/2/2018 I have decided to take my life optimization to the next level.
I have given up on my supplement addiction. I am now going to do all the things I kno0w I should. Moving my eating window to the morning. getting up early to work out in the morning and a number of other little changes to my routine. The big one started this morning. Getting up and going to the ocean...and jumping in. The ocean gets you cold and you are grounded and their is sun. No better thing to do. I found myself the other day thinking how lucky people who have cryo therapy in their town and then I realized I an walking distance to the ocean. It is so funny how we try to improve nature. The more I learn about the health benefits I think someone should powder it sand sell it in a capsule...stupid. Nature made it perfect. I this morning was my first ocean dip. The part I didn't expect was the pain from walking on the cold sand to the ocean. It was almost a burning sensation. I was so cold by the time I got to the ocean the water almost felt good...almost. A few other people were at the beach and I can only imagine what I looked like walking straight into the ocean. I wanted to get it over with and felt a kind of angry determination to fully submerge myself. Of coarse I had that conversation with myself the went something like "putting your feet in will be a good step, you don't have to go all the way in" I respond to this with an angry "fu*k that" and walk on. Everything has top do with the mental battle. As soon as I got out I felt alive in a way that I don't normally in the morning. Plus I was up so I'm also starting my morning eating and made a great breakfast. I am going to do things the way they should be done. I'm not holding on to anything. The next six months should be fun. Getting to know the cold, really getting my food local and seasonal, depleting my deuterium. All very exciting. I'm still shivering from being cold this morning but I know that health is counter intuitive. the solution to being cold is more cold.
